Chapter 42. I can hardly believe I’ve reached this age, but I have no regrets. Life has been an incredible teacher, and I’ve learned so much from the people I’ve met and the experiences I’ve had. It’s humbling to know I’ve grown wiser, and I owe it all to God. Sometimes, I want to pinch myself to make sure this isn’t a dream because His goodness has been so overwhelming.

Yes, there have been hardships, moments of doubt, pain, and struggle but God was always there, comforting my soul. The never-ending intercession of Lord Jesus, bringing my prayers to God, has brought so many blessings into my life. I look around and see the evidence of those answered prayers, and my heart is full.

Celebrating Life

To celebrate this special chapter of my life, I kept things simple, just as I like it. I enjoyed delicious food and spent time walking in nature with my best friend for life. While browsing social media, we stumbled upon a charming restaurant called My Country House in Tagaytay. The photos of its countryside-inspired décor immediately caught my attention, and being a fan of countryside living, something I was blessed to experience for three wonderful years we didn’t hesitate to visit.

The restaurant turned out to be an absolute delight. Nestled in the serene beauty of Tagaytay, it had a cozy, rustic charm that made us feel right at home. The interiors were thoughtfully decorated, with soft lighting, wooden furniture, and vintage accents that transported us to the simplicity and beauty of countryside living. The lush greenery surrounding the place added to its tranquil vibe, making it perfect for unwinding and enjoying the moment.

We had such a great time taking photos and videos, capturing the serene surroundings and special moments. Here’s one of my favorite memories from that day, a quiet moment on a garden bench, with the sun streaming through the trees and the stillness of nature wrapping me in peace.

But the highlight of the day was the birthday spread we ordered. Every dish was not only beautifully presented but also packed with flavor.

The spread included rich, buttery bone marrow paired with freshly baked bread, seafood skewers perfectly grilled and seasoned, and a delightful mushroom risotto that felt like pure comfort in every bite. Each dish was crafted with care, and the flavors harmonized beautifully. It truly felt like a feast, made even better by the peaceful ambiance of the restaurant.

However, while the main dishes were fantastic, the birthday cake fell slightly short, it could use some improvement in texture and taste. But that minor detail didn’t take away from the overall experience.

More Memories from My Country House

As we wrapped up the day, we took the time to explore the restaurant and appreciate its thoughtful details. Every corner of the place exuded a sense of warmth and calm, perfect for those looking for a peaceful retreat in Tagaytay.

From the lush gardens to the beautifully arranged dining area, My Country House truly captured the essence of countryside living. Here are more photos to share a glimpse of this serene experience:

The day was unforgettable. From the warm hospitality to the serene atmosphere and the delectable food, My Country House was more than just a restaurant; it was a little escape into a slower, more peaceful way of life. If you’re ever in Tagaytay, I highly recommend visiting for a relaxing countryside-inspired experience.

I know life will continue to unfold in unexpected ways, with its share of challenges and drama. I might not have a clear map of where I’m going, but one thing is certain: God and Lord Jesus will walk with me every step of the way. And for that, I am endlessly grateful.

“The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.”
— Psalm 126:3
