Surugin Ramen House: Worth the Hype or Overrated?

Okay, so Surugin Ramen House has been all over my social media for, like, forever. Since 2021! Every other post had these amazing ramen bowls and the cutest resident cats. But with all the vloggers and celebs raving about it, a part of me thought, “Is it just hype?”

Taking a Chance (and So Glad I Did!)

Well, guess what? We were recently in Alfonso, Cavite, and decided to, you know, YOLO it and try the place. Let me tell you, that tiny voice in my head saying “overrated” got shut down faster than a dropped noodle!

Spicy Miso That Took Me Back

The first whiff of the Spicy Miso Ramen was like a flavor bomb straight from Japan. Seriously, the broth was rich and delicious, the noodles were cooked perfectly, and the toppings were on point. Every slurp was a party in my mouth – savory, spicy, umami heaven!

Gyoza Goals and Agedashi Almost-Perfection

The Gyoza were also a win – crispy on the outside, perfectly filled on the inside. The Agedashi Tofu was amazing, with a fantastic crispy exterior. My only tiny critique is that the tofu itself could have been a bit softer, more like that fluffy “Taho” we all love. But hey, still delicious and beautifully presented!

More Than Just Food: Vibes and Kitty Companions

But Surugin Ramen House is more than just about the food (though let’s be real, the food is the star!). The whole place has this chill, Japanese-inspired vibe that’s super relaxing. Perfect for enjoying a comforting bowl of ramen, you know? Oh, and did I mention the resident cats? They just wander around casually, adding a touch of cuteness to the whole experience.

An Early Lunch Win

Our early lunch at Surugin Ramen House was a total delight. The food was way better than I expected, the atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the cats were just the icing on the cake. We definitely plan on going back to try more dishes on their menu!

P.S.: Before you head out, check their Instagram! They sometimes adjust their schedule depending on the weather. Don’t want to show up to a closed door!

So, have YOU tried Surugin Ramen House? What did you think? Spill the beans in the comments!
